Does this kit include a flight battery?
A flight battery is not listed in this kit's package contents. The DJI Matrice 4D Series Battery (149.9 Wh) is sold separately. Call (210) 900-2018 and we will confirm the exact contents before you order.
Does the Matrice 4D need a DJI Dock 3?
No. This kit flies manually with the included RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced controller. DJI Dock 3 is optional and sold separately for automated, remote missions.
Is LiDAR obstacle avoidance built in?
No. The standard sensing system is omnidirectional binocular vision with a 3D infrared sensor underneath. LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar are added with the separate DJI Obstacle Sensing Module (235 g, IP55).
How long does the Matrice 4D fly?
Up to 54 minutes in forward flight and 47 minutes hovering, measured by DJI with no wind.
Can it fly in rain?
The aircraft is rated IP55 and handles up to 12 m/s (27 mph) wind, with an operating range of -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C). IP ratings are not permanent and can decrease with wear.
What is the difference between the Matrice 4D and 4TD?
The 4TD adds a thermal camera. DJI supports precise mapping on the 4D and notes that mapping precision is not guaranteed on the 4TD, so the 4D is the better fit for survey work.
