The AVSS PRS-M4DT adds autonomous failure detection, flight termination and an energetic-deployment parachute to the DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD, flown standalone or from DJI Dock 3. The FAA has accepted Declarations of Compliance for these aircraft with the PRS for Category 2 and Category 3 operations over people.

Autonomous triggering

Detects the failure and deploys in under half a second

An onboard Autonomous Triggering System watches flight conditions continuously and fires the energetic-deployment Parachute Pod in under 0.5 seconds when it detects a failure. Automatic deployment arms at 34 m (112 ft). A manual trigger through DJI's PSDK interface on your controller arms at 5 m (16 ft).

Flight termination

Stops the motors so the canopy opens clean

The integrated flight termination system cuts the motors through DJI PSDK before the canopy opens. The aircraft then descends at about 2.92 m/s (9.58 ft/s) with 8.82 J (6.51 ft-lb) of impact energy, measured at a 2.07 kg takeoff weight.

Tested to ASTM F3322-24a, the PRS-M4DT is covered by FAA-accepted Declarations of Compliance (OOP000000244 to 247) for Category 2 and 3 operations over people on the Matrice 4D and 4TD. It also supports Transport Canada over-people rules, EASA MOC 2512, CASA and JARUS SORA M2, and ships with the compliance documentation you'll reference in your approvals.

One-year AVSS warranty. Each unit is rated for a maximum of two deployments over its life.
After a deployment the unit goes back to AVSS for analysis (up to 10 business days). Replacement of non-reusable parts may be billed to the owner.
The parachute must be repacked every 12 months, at the owner's cost.
