The DJI Matrice 4D pairs a 20 MP mechanical-shutter wide camera with two 48 MP tele cameras and a 1,800 m laser range finder, in an IP55 airframe with built-in RTK and up to 54 minutes of flight time. This aircraft-only listing is for fleets that already own, or are adding, a controller, batteries or a DJI Dock 3.

Map, inspect and measure without swapping gimbals

A 4/3-inch 20 MP wide camera with a mechanical shutter captures mapping frames, while 48 MP medium tele (70 mm equivalent) and tele (168 mm equivalent) cameras pull detail from a safe standoff, with up to 112x hybrid zoom. The built-in laser range finder measures out to 1,800 m (5,905 ft), so you can size a defect or log a coordinate without flying closer.

Built for the weather you actually fly in

An IP55-rated airframe, 12 m/s (27 mph) wind resistance and an operating range of -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C) keep the Matrice 4D working through rain, dust and cold snaps. Its low-noise anti-ice propellers are designed for year-round operations; DJI recommends replacing them at least every 12 months or 500 flight hours.

Full-color imaging after dark

Night Scene mode lifts the wide camera to ISO 204,800 and both tele cameras to ISO 409,600 for full-color imaging in low light. Standard obstacle sensing is omnidirectional binocular vision with a 3D infrared sensor underneath. LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar sensing are available with the separate DJI Obstacle Sensing Module.

Survey-grade positioning with no module to bolt on

RTK is built into the aircraft, and DJI supports precise mapping on the Matrice 4D with RTK enabled. DJI O4+ Enterprise transmission reaches up to 15.5 miles (25 km, FCC) with up to 1080p/30fps live view, keeping long corridor and utility missions on a stable link.

One airframe for manual flights and automated missions

The Matrice 4D series is the only aircraft DJI Dock 3 supports. Pair this aircraft with a DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller for manual flights in DJI Pilot 2, or deploy it from a DJI Dock 3 managed through DJI FlightHub 2 for remote, scheduled missions. Matrice 4 Series controllers also work once updated to the latest firmware.

This listing is the Matrice 4D aircraft with its propellers. Add the following to fly:

  • Controller: DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise or RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced for manual flight, or a DJI Dock 3 for automated operations. Neither is included.
  • Flight batteries: DJI Matrice 4D Series Batteries (149.9 Wh), sold separately.
  • Charging: the DJI Matrice 4D Series 240W Charging Hub or DJI Dock 3.

Does the aircraft-only Matrice 4D include a controller or battery?

No. This listing is the aircraft and its propellers. You need a DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller (standard or Enhanced) or a DJI Dock 3, plus DJI Matrice 4D Series Batteries.

Which controllers work with the Matrice 4D?

The DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise and RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced. DJI also confirms Matrice 4 Series controllers work once updated to the latest firmware. Dual-controller operation is not supported.

Do I need a DJI Dock 3?

No. The Matrice 4D can be flown manually with a compatible controller. DJI Dock 3 is optional, sold separately, and supports only the Matrice 4D series.

Is LiDAR obstacle avoidance built in?

No. Standard sensing is omnidirectional binocular vision with a 3D infrared sensor underneath. LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar are added with the separate DJI Obstacle Sensing Module.
