Frequently asked questions
Does Vela need an RTK base station or subscription?
No. Vela navigates with LiDAR and RGB vision, so there is no RTK station, no boundary wire and no correction service to set up.
What is the difference between the two versions?
FJD lists a standard version with a 20–60 mm (0.8–2.4 in) cutting height and a high-cut version with 40–80 mm (1.6–3.2 in). Choose the high-cut version if you keep your grass taller.
How big a yard can it mow?
FJD rates Vela for up to 4,000 m² (1 acre) over 24 hours. It works up to 3 hours per charge and recharges in about 1 h 50 min from 10%.
Will it avoid flower beds and driveways?
Yes. It recognizes grass and avoids driveways, flower beds, bushes, play equipment and other non-lawn areas, and you can manage several lawn zones in the app.
What happens when it rains?
Automatic rain detection stops the task and sends Vela back to charge. The IPX5 body can be rinsed with a garden hose.
What warranty applies?
Warranty terms are set by FJ Dynamics and confirmed with your quote. OmniNova is an independent retailer and handles claims with the manufacturer for you.
