Frequently asked questions
Is this just phone LiDAR?
No. The V4e Go is a dedicated LiDAR scanner; the phone is only the display and control interface. Range, point capture and positioning come from the V4e Go.
Which phones work with it?
For scanning, FJD lists Samsung Galaxy S25 and later, iPhone 15 and later, Google Pixel 10 and later, and OPPO Find X8 Ultra / Find X9 Pro and later. Colorization support is narrower. iPhone e and Air models and phones released before 2023 are not supported. We confirm your phone before you order.
Do I need the GNSS receiver?
Only for georeferenced outdoor work. Indoors, or for scans in local coordinates, the V4e Go works without GNSS. With the receiver, FJD rates RTK at ≤0.8 cm + 1 ppm horizontal and ≤1.5 cm + 1 ppm vertical. RTK needs a correction source such as a CORS network or base.
What software does it use?
For indoor floor plans, scan with the FJD Trion Creative app and finish in FJD Trion Creative Portal. For point clouds, BIM, tree inventories and volumes, scan with FJD Trion Scan and process in FJD Trion Model Web. FJD notes volume calculation in Model Web is coming soon. Software licensing is confirmed with your quote.
Who is it for?
FJD designs it for professionals who need more than phone LiDAR without a heavier workflow: interior designers, contractors, BIM teams, survey providers, arborists and others working on compact or recurring projects.
